The two forms

The lesson request asks for what you’d like to work on, your playing level, a preferred date, time and location, your name and email, and, if you choose, a note. It doesn’t ask for a phone number. The contact form asks for a topic, your name, your email and your message.

When you send either form, the site checks it and uses what you entered only to answer your request. It’s delivered as one email to Thorsten (thorsten@thorstenhohmann.com) through Resend, an email delivery service, and your email address is set as the reply address so he can answer you directly. Resend keeps a copy of sent emails for a limited time (up to 30 days) under its own privacy policy; the site itself doesn’t store submissions. You won’t be added to any mailing list.

To keep automated spam out, each form is checked by Cloudflare Turnstile before it’s sent. Turnstile loads only once you start filling in a form, runs in a small Cloudflare frame on it, and usually needs nothing from you. To tell people from bots, Cloudflare processes signals it describes as strictly necessary, such as your IP address and browser type; not what you type, and not to profile you. Sending is also limited to a few submissions a minute from one address.

Your browser

While you fill in a form, your unsent draft is kept in this browser tab’s session storage, so it isn’t lost when you move around the page. It’s removed when you send the form or close the tab, and it’s never sent anywhere until you send the form. The same session storage notes that the pool table’s opening has played, so it isn’t shown again if you come back to the table during your visit; it holds nothing about you and is cleared when you close the tab. The site stores nothing else in your browser.

Hosting

The site is served by Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, Cloudflare processes technical request data such as your IP address and browser type. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
